The Goa Carnival originated with Portuguese settlers who brought it to India around 400 years ago. Ancient Roman and Greek feasts originally influenced it before taking on Portuguese flavours. It grew throughout time to represent Goa's distinct culture, attracting large crowds and becoming a recognised cultural phenomenon that is firmly embedded in Goa’s character.
Things you should look out for in Goa Carnival 2024! – Parade: A grand parade through the lanes of the state – Red and Black Dance: A Ball where you can dance the night away! – DJ Nights! – There are 4 cities where it will take place: Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Vasco
