Andaman & Nicobar Islands: the tribal union territory
Andaman & Nicobar Islands is located at a distance of 1400 km from continent India. The capital of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is Portablair. Four tribal groups in Great Andamanese, onges, Jarawas, and Sentinelese in Andaman & Nicobar. These tribes belong to the negrito group. It is said that these tribals lived here for a thousand years and had zero contact with the outside world. It is a punishable offense to give clothes, money, food, or take pictures of Jarawas tribe people here.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands has a total of 572 islands in the union territory. In which only 37 are inhabited. And some are open for tourists. Andaman & Nicobar particularly attracts honeymooners, families, adventure enthusiasts.

Places to visit Andaman & Nicobar
The island of Havelock is one of the popular islands of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is the largest island compared to other islands. It is located 57 km away east of the capital Port Blair.
Havelock is a paradise for thrilling people as it takes up activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, and deep-sea diving. Havelock Island was named after the British general. The official island of Havelock is spread over 133.93 sq km.
Elephant beach and art water beach are popular on this island because these seaside beaches offer a panoramic view of the sunset.
Radhanagar beach
Radhanagar Beach Island is one of the major attractions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This is the main attraction of Havelock Island.
Radhanagar Beach Panne is popular due to the turquoise indigo water and crispy white meat. These grains of white sand are spread about 2 KM. This beach is 10KM away from Havelock Jetty and 4 KM from the much-awaited Vijayanagar Beach.
Radhanagar Beach’s fast blue streams provide the perfect SNORKELING experience. This place is famous for water sports, such as boating, parasailing, scuba diving, etc.
Cellular Jail
Cellular Jail Jako is known as “Kala Pani Jail.” It is located in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During the colonial period in India, this prison was built by the British. This prison was built to deport Indian political centers.
Construction of this cellular jail started in 1896 and was completed in 1906. Now the Cellular Jail is owned by the Government of India. And this jail is recognized as a national monument. The present-day cellular prison is a symbol of the struggle of Indian freedom fighters.
It is a center of attraction for tourists. There is a light show of the freedom fighters who were imprisoned in this prison in the evening.
Ross Island
Ross Island is located 2 km away from Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
It used to be the administrative headquarters of the British during colonial times. At present, there is a museum of the Indian Navy here.
