Harmandir Takht Shri Patna Sahib is well known as Patna Sahib Gurudwara. It is one of the holiest pilgrimages for the Sikh community. In the Patna district of Bihar, this gurudwara is placed on the banks of the holy Ganga. It was constructed to commemorate the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Shri Guru Govind Singh. According to legends, an ardent devotee of Guru Nanak, Salis Rai Johri, was highly inspired by the teachings of the Sikh gurus. He transformed his lavish mansion into a Dharamshala (lodge), where Guru Tegh Bahadur is also said to have stayed.

Patna, the town is well connected by road, air and railways to different parts of the country. Patna airport is 19 km away from Gurudwara, and it takes 1 hour to reach Gurudwara from the airport. The nearest railway station is around 1.7 km from Gurudwara. You can also choose roadways medium and complete your journey by bus or taxi to reach Gurudwara.

According to the Gregorian calendar, Guru Gobind Singh was born on December 22, 1666. However, his birth anniversary is celebrated according to the lunar calendar. He was born in Patna and was the only son of Guru Tegh Bahadur and Mata Gujri.
