Badrinath Dham-“A mountain for Lord Shiva.”
Badrinath Dham, a paradise place for Lord Vishnu’s worshipers, is in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli districts. It is alight on the Garhwal hill tracks near to Alaknanda River. The Badrinath temple remains closed from November to April for six months yearly. It remains closed due to worship on the blessed day of Bhatridwityia in October. When the temple closes, an Akhanda Jyoti Lamp is lit that lasts for six months. So, the image of Badrinath is transferred to Narasimha temple at Jyotirmath. It reopens on Akshaya Tritiya, the prosperous day in April every year.Â

Badrinath has good connectivity via road, air, and train with all major cities of the country. Jolly Grant Airport is the closest one, situated in Dehradun and around 317 km away from Badrinath. The railway station nearest Badrinath Dham is located in Rishikesh, around 295 km from the area. Badrinath is also connected by road via all major cities of Uttarakhand and its nearby areas.Â

Badrinath Dham is part of the holy Char Dham Yatra that includes visiting four of India’s most religious destinations honoured by Hindus. Badrinath Temple Architecture

Apart from this, the mandap is a large pillared hall with walls of intricate designs. The main shrine has an image of Badrinarayan, a 1-meter-tall black stone, holding a conch and a Chakra.

Vasudhara Falls is a waterfall located in Mana village, which is 9km away from the Badrinath Temple. This waterfall originated from the Nar Narayan Peak of the Himalayas at 400ft. This waterfall meets with the Alaknanda River at an altitude of 12000ft.
