The lake is situated 7km away from Kovalam in Trivandrum, Kerala, and is well known as the most popular freshwater lake. This lake is well known as ‘Velliyani Kayal’ in the regional language Malayalam. Vellayani Lake is surrounded by 7.5 acres and is a magnificent water source for irrigation and drinking.
