    The Kutch Rann Utsav, popularly known as the Rann of Kutch Festival was initiated in 2005 by the Gujarat Tourism Department to promote the unparalleled tradition, music, art, and geographical status of Kutch.     How to reach

    By Air: The closest airport of Kutch is Bhuj airport which is approximately 85 km from the white desert of Rann of Kutch. For overseas tourists, the nearest international airport is at Ahmedabad Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, which is about 400klms from Kutch.     • The best time one can choose to attend the festival on full moon time as the environment is romantic and awesome.

    • It is imperative that each visitor produces a valid ID – an Aadhaar card or a passport is acceptable for Indian citizens and a passport is for visitors from other countries. As a rule, the permits are issued until the following day, though the timming may differ, for example during festival days or legal holidays.
