The stone is known as Sill Batta in Hindi India. While making the Chutney careful that the hemp seeds are crushed completely.

The dish is served somewhere other than the mainland of Uttrakhand or restaurants, hotels, or guest houses. The bhang Ki chutney is made only during special festive seasons or in Uttarakhand’s homes.

Bhang Ki chutney originated in 1000 BC in ancient India. Earlier, the bhang was only distributed during the spring festival of Mahashivratri and Holi. But now, the time has changed a bit. India has started experimenting and consuming the bhang daily, as it provides a different aroma.

Tips to make Bhang ki Chutney

To make bhang Ki chutney for at least two people, you need half a Cup of bhang seeds [Hemp seeds]

Now, you need 2 to 3 fresh hot red or green chillies. Also, use red chilli powder instead of red chilli. It would help if you had coriander and mint leaves and added curry leaves to make them more flavourful. Half a Cup of these ingredients is sufficient.

After that, you need half a Cup of lime juice or a bitter taste agent of your choice. You don’t have to use more than half a Cup of any sore agent.

After mixing, you have to add salt and start crushing all the ingredients. You have to crush all the ingredients on Sill Batta.

You can use the mixer to make hemp seed chutney, but that will reduce Hemp seed chutney’s actual taste. So, it is advisable to use Sill Batta to make Hemp Seeds.

Most Uttarakhand people eat Bhang ki Chutney with Chicken, Meat, and other snacks, dishes, or Roties. The Bhang ki Chutney enhances the taste and flavour of the dish.
